"It's a Neuron!"

I ended up finishing up my neurobiology course this semester, and I honestly enjoyed it very much. Alot of what we talked about we neuronal action in the various parts of the brain, and on that neuronal level scale.

My instructor was pretty awesome and had a very unconventional way of delivering the learning material to the students in such a very interesting form. Yet, he's become one of my favorites.

What I liked about my professor is that he also has a huge appreciation for art like I do, which was what I enjoy talking to him about from time to time, having told him I once was an art major before I ended up going into the science field.

So I ended up making this calligraphy drawing for him as a gift for being an awesome teacher, and making it up there on my list of favorite teachers. This drawing pays homage to the ever popular painting called, "The Treachery of Images." Which has a very interesting and unique way of reframing one's thinking at how you look at things, when people look at things in a very blindsided logic and view.

If you can't read the text, it says, "This is not a drawing" which I used different symbols that closely represent the actual english letters we use to communicate in our language system, to illustrate that language is an illusion, and that we created signs and symbols to represent the phonetic sounds that make up the letters, which make up the words, and sentences that we use to speak to each other on a daily basis, and how we also can reframe and interpret the information that is presented to us, based upon our learning memory in semantics.

Also, it also ties into the fact that this calligraphic drawing, also represents the neuron that you see, is that the very thing we are looking at, is called a neuron, or what we have labeled, coined and term "neuron", that without the technology we have now, we wouldn't be able to understand or even be able to diagram and see the very thing we see right in front of us from a magnified scale, to a hypothetical and close to objective view representation of what we call a "neuron" and what it does.

God's really blessed me alot this year, to be able to continue following in His son Jesus' footsteps in being able to show appreciation to someone who probably doesn't feel appreciated at all in life, when other people have dogged on him for being a jerk. It was pretty funny because my instructor couldn't hardly contain the excitement that he tried so hard to conceal when he got from the entire idea behind the illustration and it registered in his head. His reaction was truly priceless.

I love the minimalism here. Bold, simple, loud and proud.

Because in The Treachery of Images. It isn't a pipe, it's a painting of a pipe. Right? :)

But you just took the ball game to a whole different level.

I'm a huge fan of The Treachery of Images and it feels that you managed to capture the humour and wit.

Looks like a rough rendering for MUSE' second law album cover.
